The Heart Behind Branch & Vine

Branch & Vine is led by a team who loves Jesus deeply and longs to see others experience His transforming grace.

Together, we serve as teachers, storytellers, and encouragers—committed to helping women grow in His Word and live in His grace.

Each member of our team brings unique gifts, but we share one heartbeat: to create spaces where women can be known, loved, and challenged to walk more closely with Christ, as we walk alongside you on that very same journey.

Katelyn Hunter - Founder & CEO

Katelyn Hunter grew up in the Methodist church in Kirkwood, Missouri, where her love for Jesus was nurtured not only in Sunday services but in the quiet, faithful moments shared with her Granny and Papa at their farm in Fayette, Missouri. One of her earliest memories of faith comes from the basement of their small country church, perched on a gravel road. Her Papa had lifted the grandkids into an old cattle feed bin—now transformed into a fishing boat—and her Granny handed them grocery sacks from McCutcheon’s Market to use as nets. As she told the story from John 21:6, instructing them to “cast their nets on the other side,” she dropped in sugar cookies shaped like fish. It was in that moment, surrounded by childlike wonder and simple faith, that Katelyn first understood what it meant to follow Jesus.

Though she’s known Jesus her whole life, Katelyn’s call to ministry came later. After more than a decade working in marketing and advertising, she began serving in children’s ministry and felt God stirring something new within her. Guided by her lifelong mantra—“do good”—and anchored in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up,” Katelyn faithfully stepped into full-time ministry.

Through her time in children’s ministry, she discovered a deep passion for helping women grow in faith and community. Conversations with fellow moms and ministry leaders began to plant seeds for what would eventually become Branch & Vine. In the fall of 2024, Katelyn wrote the first version of A Cultivated Life—a nine-month journey for women to grow deep roots in God’s Word. But like so many things in God’s timing, the idea rested for a season. Nine months later, in July 2025, she met her partner and now co-founder, Stephanie—and together, they officially launched Branch & Vine.

Today, Katelyn leads with the same heart that once knelt beside that feed bin “boat”—inviting women to trust Jesus, cast their nets in faith, and discover the abundance that comes from abiding in Him.

Stephanie Moergen - Co-Founder & COO

Stephanie Moergen grew up in the church, but it looked a little different along the way as she moved across the country. Her life took a pretty unexpected turn when Jesus found her heart at Young Life Camp in upstate New York—proof that a week of summer camp can, in fact, change everything. That encounter, and many others, ignited her passion for helping people experience the love, belonging, and hope found in Christ, and it continues to shape her calling today.

With 13 years in the classroom and over two years pastoring, Stephanie is a rare blend of compassionate leader and intentional disciple-maker. Whether she’s connecting people to practical resources or walking with someone through a tough season, she brings clarity, warmth, and a deep desire to reflect Jesus in all she does.

She loves her city fiercely and can recommend a Kansas City spot for nearly any mood or meal. When she’s off the clock, you’ll find her painting, reading, working out, listening to live music, or trying not to adopt another plant. Known for her wit, her steady encouragement, and her commitment to helping people grow in community and in Christ, Stephanie shows up every day hoping to make others feel seen, supported, and anchored in God’s love.
